Oil Usage

I found this graphic showing US oil usage by sector..

http://www.eia.doe.gov/pub/oil_gas/petroleum/analysis_publications/oil_market_basics/Dem_image_US_cons_sector.htm

interesting to note how transportation usage has exploded while industrial usage has grown but much more moderately. Thank you, SUV drivers and manufacturers for further exacerbating the problem!

Personally I think people who drive cars that get less than 25MPG as commuter vehicles ought to be ashamed of themselves.

Of course our government isn't helping things too much, either. I guess we'll have to leave it to economics to finally get people to change their attitudes about the cars they drive and the kind of economic/environmental/political effect it has.

i didn't get those scholarships, but i might send you some SASEs and have you reuse that letter if i find any more to apply for.

by the way, i know i mentioned this, but matt's in town.. my life's busy because of a police thing involving my muffler and i can't make it to king county.. i'm sure we could all hang if you can make it up to whatcom.. not such a bad drive.. i'm sure you could even find work in this town if you want with your resume at this point. nice frickin' town, i'm kinda torn between it and seattle, but i decided i was over my old school-transfer hate of whatcom county and especially since i got this bike, i've been liking bellingham alright.

holy crap i might've scoured a paper route instead of the enslaving 7-day a week thing i was almost about signed on for. might have time for a field trip after all, although i seriously doubt matt does, he seriously is like all tied up with family shit, to an amazing extent that is really hard to admire. ouch!

I've been way busy lately but could probably come up at some soon at some point.

As for work, well I just bought a house in Edmonds, so i'm kinda grounded to this area for now.

It was interesting going back to see Bellingham briefly a few months ago. Weird feeling.
